2 1/4 cup all purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 and 1/2 teaspoons cornstarch (the key to thickness)

3/4 cup unsalted softened butter

3/4 cup packed light brown sugar

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 large egg + 1 egg yolk at room temperature

2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips


Preheat oven to 350 degrees F

In large bowl whisk the flour, baking soda, cornstarch, and salt together and then set aside.

In a medium bowl cream the butter and eggs then mix in the brown sugar, and

granulated sugar. Finally mix in the vanilla extract.

Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and mix together until combined.

Fold in chocolate chips and refrigerate for 1 hour.

Scoop out dough (approx. 1 tbsp each) and roll into balls placing on cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake for 10-12 mins. Or until lightly browned (Do not over bake)

Serve warm!
