My mom always had LOTS of things going on all the time! Kind of like this dessert!

Chocolate Chip Pecan Cookie Brownie Bars!


For Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough

1 1/2 stick of butter, softened at room temp.

1 large egg, room temperature

3/4 cup dark light brown sugar

1/4 cup granulated sugar

2 tsp. pure vanilla extract

2 cups flour

2 tsp. Cornstarch

1 tsp. Baking soda

1/4 tsp. salt

1 cup semi-sweet mini chocolate chips

1 cup pecans, chopped

For Brownie batter you can pick up favorite box of Brownie mix (I used Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate)

Instructions for Chocolate Chip Cookies

In a large bowl using a hand-held mixer or stand mixer with paddle attachment, beat the butter, brown sugar, and sugar together on medium speed until combined and creamy. Beat in the egg and vanilla.

In a separate bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, baking soda and salt. Add into the wet ingredients. Combine chocolate chips and pecans. Cover dough with aluminum foil or plastic wrap and chill for at least 1 hr.

Prepare brownie batter as directed on the package.

Pour batter into a 9x13 baking dish lined with aluminum foil (I lightly greased my foil with butter or you can use cooking spray). Scatter the pieces of cookie dough randomly over the top of the brownie batter (I had extra dough for cookies).

Bake for 30-40 minutes.

Remove from oven and cool for at least 10 minutes.
