How about some Homemade Buttermilk Biscuits and Simple Sausage Gravy on a beautiful Sunday Morning!

Ingredients for Biscuits

2 1/2 cups all purpose flour

1 tsp. salt

1/2 cup unsalted cold butter

2 tbsp. Baking powder

Ingredients for Sausage Gravy

1 package Jimmy Dean Hot sausage roll

salt and pepper

1/3 cup flour

Fresh ground pepper


1 cup plus 2 tbsp. buttermilk

Instructions for Gravy

In large skillet break sausage into pieces and cook until well done.

Remove sausage from skillet.

Reduce heat and keep some of the drippings in skillet and sprinkle in the flour in small amounts and stir continuously. Add in milk and cook until it thickens. Add sausage back to pan with gravy. Add the salt and pepper to taste.

Instructions for Biscuits

Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.

Whisk flour, baking powder and salt in small bowl.

Add cubed cold butter and pulse together until coarse crumbs. Make a well in middle of mixture and pour 1cup of buttermilk on top and mix together until just combined.

Place dough on lightly floured surface and flatten then fold and flatten out again repeating several times.

Roll dough with lightly floured rolling pin until approx. 1 inch thick. Cut into circles and place on baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Brush tops with remaining buttermilk and bake for 15 mins. or until golden brown on top.

Remove from oven and slice. Pour sausage gravy on top.
